エムゼロは比べものにならないくらい突然終わったけどね…。

正直言うと、エムゼロも「打ち切りだけど続いてほしかった漫画」ランキングの常連なんだよね。
しかも数年はちゃんと連載してたし、打ち切られたのはちょうど2006〜2008あたりで、ジャンプが絶頂期で化け物だらけだった頃だから仕方ない面もある。
ビッグ3が全盛期で、さらにクレイモア、アイシールド21、リボーン、To Loveる、D.Gray-manみたいな強豪が同時期に連載してたし。

ちなみにPsyrenも2008〜2010で同じような時期なんだよね。だから言いたいのは、どっちも良作だったけど、同時期に強すぎる連中が揃ってたのが不運だったってこと。

To be fair, Mx0 also tends to appear in the “axed manga that you wish still were here” lists. It also ran for a healthy couple of years before getting axed, and only did so because the 2006-2008 years were Shounen Jump at its absolute best, with the Big Three at the height of their popularity and monsters like Claymore, Eyeshield 21, Reborn!, To Love ru and D-Gray Man, running in parallel.

Having said that, so did Psyren (2008-2010), but that’s kind of the point I’m trying to make. Both were great manga that were unlucky to be running against giants.

まじかよ、ほんとに実現するとは思わなかった…。打ち切りになった漫画がアニメ化されるなんてほぼ奇跡なのに。
最終章をしっかり作り込んでくれることを願うわ。俺はあれでも悪くないと思ってるけど、やっぱ急ぎ足だったしね。

Holy shit, I can’t believe it’s actually happening. I’d given up hope, since the manga got axed and the chances of a series getting an anime when that happens is so freaking slim.

Here’s hoping they’ll be able to fully flesh out the final arc; I still think it works, but it does feel rushed.

アニメオリジナルの結末で、作者が本来やりたかったテンポをちゃんと再現してくれるかもって思うとめちゃくちゃ希望が湧くわ。
Psyrenは打ち切りなのに、張った伏線ほぼ全部回収して終わらせたの本当に奇跡みたいなもんだよ。
最近のヒット作でさえ最後グダグダになるの多いのに、打ち切られてあそこまでまとめたのはすごすぎる。急ぎ足だけど、ちゃんと成立してるし。

This gives me immense hope for an anime-only ending that can deliver the authors original intended pacing. That psyren ends as well as it does, actually concluding all the plot lines it established, is miraculous considering the biggest, most successful series of recent years have notoriously broken their ankles trying to stick the landing at the end, while psyren did it after getting canceled. It’s rushed, but still works.

ほんとそれ。作者は最初から最後まで全部プランしてたのが読み取れる。だから打ち切りの知らせが来たときも、全部を最終章に圧縮するだけで済んだ感じ。
正直、原作のテンポのままでも全然満足できると思う。Psyrenは俺の好きな作品の一つだし、あれよりひどいアニメ化の結末なんていくらでも見てきたからさ。

Agreed. You can tell the author had it all planned out from beginning to end at the start, so all that needed to be done when word of the cancellation came down was to condense everything into a single, final arc.

Honestly, though, even if they keep the manga’s pacing, I’d still be satisfied, because Psyren is one of my favorite series and it genuinely wouldn’t be the worst ending to a manga adaptation; I’ve seen so many adaptations that wish they could have an ending as good as Psyren’s.

打ち切りだったの？知らなかったわ。終わり方普通に良かったと思ってたし、説明足りない部分はあったけど「最悪」ってほどじゃなかった。
でも本当の結末ってどうなる予定だったのか気になるな…。アニメで“本当の結末”が見られるならそれは嬉しい。

It was axed? I didn’t know that. I though the ending was okay; maybe there were some things that needed some explanations but it wasn’t the worst ending I’ve read.

Anyway, now I’m curious about what the real ending would have been like. And yeah, maybe the anime will have the “real” ending, that would be nice.

打ち切り作品でちゃんと終わらせた例を見たいなら、Psyrenがまさにそれだよ。
Psyrenのエンディングは、今の連載完走してる漫画より出来がいいくらい。超急ぎ足なんだけど、作者が全部の伏線をちゃんと回収してるんだよね。

If yall want to see a series that was axed and pulled off a decent ending, this is the one.

The ending if Psyren is better than most series nowadays that get a full run. It’s super rushed, but the author addresses EVERYTHING.

うおおおおおマジかよ。10年くらい前は「アニメ化してほしい漫画ランキング」の常連だったのに、打ち切られた少年漫画があそこまで綺麗に終わったのは奇跡みたいな話で、今では半分カルト作品みたいに扱われてたのに…15年も経ってアニメ化！？
制作陣の誰か、絶対ネットにどっぷり浸かってただろ。ミームの力で現実にしちゃった感じだわ。

Holy fuuuuuck, like a decade ago this series was at the top of everyones “needs an anime adaptation” lists, an axed shounen that actually stuck the landing still, arguably a cult classic at this point, and it gets an anime after being dead for 15 years? Someone at the studio must be terminally online for this to have been memed into existence.

Wow. I was not expecting a manga from that long ago to get an anime. Might have to check it out as Psyren is one of my favourites
