映画のあとって、スキップされてる部分があるって聞いたんだけど、アニメを見るためには漫画読んどいたほうがいい？
After the movie do I need to read the manga to watch this because I heard they are skipping stuff

まあ作品次第だよね。スキップするのは仕方ないとしても、ユウとミコのオリジナル内容をちょっと追加してほしいな。あの2人にはもっといい終わり方が必要だよ。
Depends they can skip whatever but I hope they add a little OG content of Yu and Miko they need a better ending.

映画「ファーストキスは終わらない」のあとに、漫画だと100話ぐらい（＝アニメ2.5シーズン分）あるんだよ。そりゃ短い特別編じゃほとんど飛ばされるわけだ。
でも正直言うと、あのへんから漫画の勢いが落ちてったんだよな。赤坂アカは明らかにインスピレーション切れてたし、アイデアも枯れてた。それに加えて『推しの子』も並行して描き始めたしね。俺はあの辺りの章、別に読み返したいとは思わなかったわ。
There’s like 100 manga chapters (= 2.5 full seasons) after the “first kiss never ends” movie. Of course one short special will skip most of this stuff.
However, let’s be honest. It’s at that point when this manga went downhill. Aka clearly lost his inspiration, ran out of ideas and, on top of that, started writing OnK in parallel. I personally never felt an urgency to re-read those chapters.

赤坂アカ、アイデア切れてたしネタなくなってた上に、『推しの子』も同時に描き始めてたしな。で、『推しの子』のほうでも同じこと起きたよな。

映画の直後からすぐ落ち始めたわけじゃないよ。まだめちゃくちゃ良い章はたくさんあったし。
It didn’t start going downhill immediately after the movie though. There’s still some excellent chapters.

What are you talking about? The manga went “downhill” in the last arc or so, not after the movie and certainly not before or around 220.

同意しないとだめだな。告白（映画で描かれた部分）直後あたりって、むしろ漫画の中でも一番おもしろくて可愛い瞬間が多いんだよ。163話（予告にも使われてるコマのひとつ）から177話までの流れなんて伝説級だし。
I’m going to have to disagree, I think some of the funniest and cutest moments in the manga happens on the immediate aftermath of the confession that was shown in the movie (chapter 160), the run from chapter 163 (another one of the panels the trailer is showing) to chapter 177 is legendary.

みんながシリーズ後半全部を最終章と一緒くたにするのマジで悲しいわ。後半には俺の好きなギャグや面白いキャラ描写がめっちゃあるのに。
Man the fact that so many people lump the entire back half of the series together with the final arc bums me out. The latter half of my series has some of my favorite jokes and some really interesting characterization.

全然同意できないね。映画のあとから今回までの話、めっちゃ良くて面白かったし。読まなくていいって言ってる人らの言うことは気にしなくていいよ。
Disagree entirely. The chapters between the movie and this were really good and interesting. Don’t listen to these people telling you that you don’t need to read them

この意見にはビックリだわ。いちばん笑える話って150話以降に固まってるのに。
付き合った後の2人に共感できない人って、“追いかけてる時”の関係だけが好きなんだろうね。
Surprised by this take because all of the funniest chapters are after ch150.
Some people can only relate to the chase of a relationship and don’t enjoy/can’t relate to the characters after getting together

物語の推進力がもう無くなってて、今はただドラマで過去の決着をひっくり返そうとしてるだけって感じで、正直あんまり面白くなかった。俺がこの作品に求めてたものでもなかったしね。
最終章読もうとしたけど無理だった。
逆に「着せ恋」みたいに即エピローグ入る作品もあるけど、あれのほうが引き延ばしの茶番より100倍マシだと思ってる。
I mean the driving element of the story was over, so now it is just drama trying to undo any resolution that ws reached which isn’t very interesting and not what a lot of people came for. I tried reading that final arc and just gave up because it wasn’t what I enjoyed about the series.
You also have the other end like Dress Up Darling which just hits the epilogue immediately. I know people didn’t like it but I vastly, vastly prefer its ending over dragging things out with pointless theatrics.

マジでその通り。文化祭編までは最高のラブコメだったのに、そこから一気に “普通” になっちゃった。今でも大好きだし一生好きな作品だけどさ……。
なんで作者は途中で別のマンガ始めちゃったんだろ。ほんともったいない。
Truth nuke. Kaguya went from being the best romcom to being aggressively mid after the festival arc. I still love it to death and it will forever be my favorite romcom but man… It could have been so much better. I don’t know/understand why the mangaka decided to start another manga in the middle of it. Such a shame.

聞いた話だと100話くらい飛ばすんだろ？そんなのどうやって理解すればいいんだよ。サプライズ公開だろうが、絶対めちゃくちゃ困惑するわ。
これはアニメに無理やり終わりを付けて、S4まだ？っていう声を止めるために作られたんだろうね。何も知らないで見始める未来の視聴者はもっと混乱すると思う。
They’re dropping like something around a 100 chapters from what I’ve heard, right? How the hell am I supposed to know any of this? Shadow drop or not I’m probably going to be incredibly confused.
This has just been made to put an ending in the anime and make sure people stop asking for S4. So future watchers who jump in blind are going to be even more confused.

まぁ気持ちは分かるけど、そこまで混乱はしないと思うよ。飛ばされる話って、そこまで重要なストーリー展開があったわけじゃないし。飛ばしていいって意味じゃないけど、このOVAで何が起きてるか全然分からない、なんてことにはならない気がする。他の読者が違ったら訂正してくれ。
I understand but I don’t think it should be confusing. I don’t think there was any significant plot development in the skipped chapters. I don’t mean to say that it should be skipped but I don’t think this ova should be so confusing that you won’t understand anything happening. Other manga readers can correct me if I am wrong

でもアニメ勢は、映画でちょっと匂わせただけだった石上の話がどうなったのか、めっちゃ気になるだろうね。
Though anime watchers are gonna be really curious about what happened with the Ishigami plot since they just teased it in the movie.

もし石上と伊井野の話がアニメで放置されたら本当に悲しい。漫画だとめちゃくちゃ良い展開なのに。
I’m gonna be so sad if the Ishigami/Iino plot gets unresolved in the anime. It’s so good in the manga.

PVを見る限り、ちゃんとあの展開に向けて積み上げられるのか正直不安だな……。まぁ見てみないと分からないけど！
Based on what we’ve seen in the PV, I’m not sure they can build to these events properly… But I guess we’ll see!

100話くらい飛ばすってマジで悲しいわ。映画以降の話は映画前ほどじゃないのは認めるけど、それでもめっちゃ良い話はたくさんあるんだよ……。しかもそういう「コメディ中心で軽めの回」こそ、今回バッサリ切られちゃうんだろうなってのが余計に悲しい。

Makes me kinda sad. I do admit the post movie stuff isn’t as good as the movie/pre movie, BUT there’s still lots of really good ones… And sadly I think these are probably the ones that are gonna get cut (the mostly comedic light-on-plot chapters).
