Anime studio bankruptcies and closures continue to rise for third consecutive year in Japan

Much of this is due to poor management in many studios.

Some of this is due to over saturation of the industry.

Most studios are paid upfront, so production companies making too much anime shouldn’t be studios’ problems, at least not financially.

Yah, feels like a lot of copy and paste stories! Also feels like they’re catering more to visuals and characters they can build a fandom around vs good story telling with visuals and fandom being a byproduct.

Those are the ones paying the bills, actually. One of the main ways anime makes money is through merch, character goods. You get enough people to buy those and you are in the blue.

Not for One Punch Man S3 though! They clearly put zero effort into visuals 😀

In an industry where studios earn little, saturated with projects and with fewer and fewer qualified artists, this situation is, unfortunately, inevitable.

Huh, who’d of thought that the people funding the anime only cared about the profits and not the quality of the anime.

Big anime studios growing, smaller ones consolidating, being bought out, or becoming bankrupt. Just like most industries. Only industries on a bubble will have smaller players pop here and there, and even then most go bust after the bubble pops.

anime is blowing up everywhere all over the world and they are registering bankruptcies

Well yeah, just because the guy you work for is making record profits doesn’t necessarily mean you’re also making bank.

I mean, just because you were the construction company that build the popular housing doesn’t always mean you’re going to see much of the profit from it being sold out. That’s how the majority of these anime studios operate. As contractors. They don’t receive project, they don’t get income.

Only a few productions are successful because quality. The rest, all the lazy isekai slop which Japan is chain producing, isn’t blowing up, that’s certain…

I know what will solve this, lets pump out another 10 low quality isekais each season!

HELLL YEAHHH ( i liek isekai)

This but unironically. My favorite anime as of lately. And the funny thing is alot of them end up having pretty good stories with memorable characters but so many people just instantly label them trash.

Not surprising, look at crap like “One Frame Man”, or Blue Lock latest season, What the Fuck? Even a youtuber with no budget can produce better animation. It’s funny because, at one point most animation was outsourced to South Korea or even China, but outsourcing itself has become too expensive for the japanese anime industry… I don’t know even know how this industry is even alive given the low quality crap that comes out of Japan… even the Chinese anime is now on par if not better when it comes to TV shows… Just watch Lord Of Mysteries… just look at the animation and compare with your typical Japanese TV shows… like what the fuck happened to Japan animation? Outside a handful of big productions, It has become a joke, uninspired Isekai slop produced in chain, mismanagement, the quality has gone down, period.

あとLord of the Mysteriesは中国で流行中のweb小説

.. your point would make sense if jc staff was going bankrupt (they arent)

yet… don’t worry, they’ll get bankrupt soon enough if they continue that way. JCStaff is just an example among many, the quality is simply going down compared to even Chinese productions. Watch Lord Of Mysteries, the Japanese TV anime production industry can’t produce something of that quality anymore.
