1か月経って改めて見たけど、レゼがデンジに会いに必死で走ってるところでまた心折れたわ。普通にまた泣いた。
たぶん俺の中で史上最高のアニメ映画だし、映画全体で見てもトップ5に入るレベルだわ。

「デンジ、正直あたしも学校なんて行ったことないんだよ…」ってセリフと一緒にエンドロール入った時、胸がキュッとなるような切ない空気とぽっかりした感じが残ってさ…。音楽もアニメもストーリーも全部すごくて、本当に名作だと思うわ。
“Denji to be honest, i never went to school either…” I remember feeling a bittersweet and empty feeling as credits rolled and this played in theater. From the music to animation and storyline, this movie is a masterpiece.

一番つらいのは、レゼがちゃんと待ち合わせに来てたってことをデンジが一生知ることないってところなんだよな…。たった路地一本すれ違っただけなのに。悲しすぎて涙が止まらないわ。😢😢🥀
What’s heartbreaking is that Denji will never know that Reze actually kept their appointment, and that they were only separated by an alley. It’s so sad that tears can’t stop flowing. 😢😢🥀

デンジとレゼの恋愛に関するものを見るたびに、胸がキュッとなる切なさを感じるわ。だって、これがデンジが本当に幸せになれる最後の瞬間なんだもん。
Anytime I see anything relating to the romance between Denji and Reze, it makes me feel a sense of bittersweet because this is the last time Denji will truly be happy

これは傑作だわ……マジでぶっちぎりの傑作。アニメーションも、撮影演出も、BGMも、戦闘シーンも、曲も全部「最高」って感じ。ケンシヨネズは歌上手いって知ってたけど、ヒカル・ウタダは今回が初めて聴いたけど、めちゃくちゃハマってた。デンジとレゼの演技も完璧だし、ケンシとヒカルの歌も完璧だった。
This is masterpiece…… An absolute fcking masterpiece. The animation, cinematography, ost, fight sequences and the songs are “W”. I know that kenshi yonezu is one of the best singer because I heard a lot of songs of kenshi. This is first time I’m listening to Hikaru utada and she absolutely nailed it. Dengi and reze nailed in anime and kenshi and Hikaru nailed in songs.

映画でデンジとレゼの関係を象徴する単体のガーベラの花に込められた、日本の花言葉の意味がずっと頭から離れないし、このMVでもそれがすごく強調されてるんだよね。
単体のガーベラは「一目惚れ」「あなたは運命の人」「常に前に進む」という意味で、デンジがレゼに渡す白いガーベラは「希望」と「誠実」、駅でもらうレゼの赤いガーベラは「燃えるような神秘の愛」と「果てしない挑戦」を意味してる。
映画にはこういう素晴らしいサブテキストが随所にあって、物語の核心テーマをさらに強めてるんだよね。これを聴くと今でも胸が熱くなって涙が出てしまう。関わった全員、本当に素晴らしい仕事をしたと思う！！
I can’t stop thinking about all of the Japanese Flower Language symbolism around the single Gerbera flower that gets used in the film for Denji & Reze’s relationship, and how much that gets emphasized in this MV. The single Gerbera represents “love at first sight”, “you are my soulmate”, & “always moving forward” with the white one that Denji give Reze being “hope” & “honesty” and the red one Reze gets at the train station being “burning mysterious love” & “endless challenge”. The movie has some absolutely brilliant subtext like this that reinforces all of the core themes, and I still can’t listen to this without having tears well up in my heart. Absolutely brilliant work by everyone involved!!

1:22のところ、ここで流れる楽器の音めっちゃ好きなんだ。デンジとレゼの悲しい恋を表現してる感じ。滑らかで高いシンセの音は、まるで誰かが情熱的に叫んでるようで、恋人を呼ぶ鳥の鳴き声みたい。そしてそのあと、粗くて低いシンセが応えるように鳴るんだけど、これも叫びのように聞こえる。高い音がレゼで、低い音がデンジを表してる――レゼは必死にデンジに愛を伝えようと呼びかけ、デンジはまるで運命の相手みたいに応えてるんだ。
これを最後のシーンの文脈で考えると、さらに胸が痛む。レゼは何よりもデンジにもう一度会いたかったのに、そのチャンスの前に命を奪われてしまう…。だから高いシンセがあんなに必死に叫んでるように聞こえるんだ。
1:22 i love the instruments that play here, they represent the tragic love between denji and reze. the smooth, high pitched synth sounds as if someone was screaming passionately, like a bird calling for its lover. and after that, a rough, low pitched synth responds back which also sounds like a scream. the high pitched one represents reze, and the low pitched one represents denji — reze desperately calls for denji to show her love, and denji responds back in a way that sounds like they were meant for each other hurts even more when you put it in the context of the final scene, where reze so badly wanted more than anything to see denji again but was killed before she had the chance to.. explains how desperate the high pitched synth sounds

マジで、この曲もうプレイリストに何百回も入ってるんだけど、また泣かせないでくれ、最高すぎるんだよ😭。
あと日本語コメントで読んだちょっとした豆知識だけど、JANE DOEの動画ではよく水を使うのに対して、IRIS OUTはMVで爆発を使うことが多いらしいんだ。意図的かは分からないけど、もうこれが俺の頭の中の設定になったわ。この曲ほんと大好き。
Bro this song is already in my playlist like hundred times, don’t make me cry again it’s so good 😭. Probably one of the neat tidbits that I read from the Japanese comments, is that JANE DOE often uses the water in their videos while IRIS OUT uses explosions in their music videos. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but man that’s my headcanon now. I love this song so much.

映画が終わって画面が真っ暗になり、JANE DOEの曲が流れ始めたとき、ただ呆然と座ってたわ、まるで失恋した人みたいに。マジで、レゼ大好き。
After the movie went black and the song JANE DOE came out, I just sat there in a daze, like a broken-hearted person. Oh my gosh, I love Reze.

原作マンガを読んでた者として、エンディング曲が「JANE DOE」って知ったとき、胸がぎゅっとなったんだよね。言葉でどう説明したらいいか分からないけど、レゼのアークがああ終わったことを考えると、誰にも身元を知られず路地で倒れている彼女…その結末に「JANE DOE」って曲名がついてるの、完璧すぎるわ。
As a manga reader, when I first found out the ending song was named “JANE DOE” I felt my heart sink, idk how to describe the feeling but knowing how Reze’s arc ended, her body quite literally in an alleyway with no one to identify her, HER ending being JANE DOE is so perfect

もう1か月以上経つのに、まだこの映画の余韻から抜け出せない。今まで観た中で最高の映画のひとつだし、サウンドトラックも超神ってる。
More than a month has passed still can’t get over the movie . One of the best movies I’ve ever watched and absolute banger of a soundtrack.
