No clue what the govt wants to achieve by doing this shit

Someone made a bad call and now they all have to run with it so that they appear entirely unified.

Yeah, unifiedly pathetic This is a problem with government systems where there is one leader and every other sub leader is trying to guess what the leader wants so they pull shit like this. The CCP system and the US Feudal system are just examples of shit show. The communists cares doing this thinking this is what Xidada wants. Then the Dutch and Japanese acting out thinking that is what Trump Daddy wants. Its amazing how they parallel each other.

Acquire nationalistic support to make armed conflict more palatable to their populace. China by reducing Japanese pop culture influence in their military aged citizenry. Japan by playing up the military threat of China.

Playing up? You mean constant intrusions in Japanese territory is not enough of a threat from you? What about the threats to Taiwan which would immediately threaten the SKorea and Japanese economy? Is that really OK to compare?

Putting more pressure on the Japanese government obviously by hurting the bottomline of their culture industry

The anti-Japanese sentiment is strong.

Most people in that show don’t care, they’re there to enjoy a singer. I suspect most Chinese people know that it’s bullshit, and online comments are not representative. Japanese artists are obviously going to China because there is a market and they felt welcome before, just like thousands of Chinese feel safe visiting and buying property in Japan.

It’s the difference between democracy and a dictatorship. China can do things like this and not care about what their citizens think But Japan will have their artists and their fans get upset and put pressure on Japan prime minister

The Japanese public has already seen through the fact that the Chinese government is carrying out this kind of harassment in an attempt to lower the approval ratings of Japan’s prime minister. Rather, people view the current issue as purely China’s overbearing behavior, and you should be aware of that. In fact, ever since China began applying pressure, the prime minister’s approval ratings have risen instead. Please refer to the sources below as well. * Japan PM fails to achieve breakthrough in row with China – but polling shows public backs her https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/24/japan-pm-sanae-takaichi-g20-summit-china-public-support?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Of course it was. Did you really think the prime minister’s comment was actually aimed at China? Both sides are just putting on a show for people back home.

You apparently don’t know much about Japanese. It might because you simply dividing Sino-Japanese conflicts’ issues as democracy and a dictatorship. In fact, the Japan prime minister gained a lot of supports from her core electorates. In a nutshell, both China and Japan’s incumbent administration’s “base supporters” want to “win”, in fact, both of these two administrations are trying to consolidate their core supporters.

In fact, it is better these two nations to play some childish games, as compared to have real wars, isn’t it? I think same things had happened more than once before, one was at 90s, the another one was at 10s. Many young people might had heard the 10s one, but less people would recall the 90s one.

Good. I hope this continues. The giapponese are the sole reason gachas are so predatory and every shitty tactic works because they eat it all like the good little sheep that they are. Good riddance.

I think China is a big growth area for Japanese music, so this latest ban must have hit pretty hard. For artists who are past their prime, performing in China is still a reliable way to get paid.
