変にキレイ寄せしないで、
原作マンガのちょっとズレた絵柄をそのまま残してるのが、
なんか逆に不思議と魅力あるよね（笑）
Somehow it’s weirdly charming that they kept the manga’s slightly off artstyle instead of prettying it up lol.

正直、昔のTVシリーズはやりすぎ感あったけど、
サントラはマジで最高だった
the original tv series was way too over the top but the soundtrack was sick

マンガ・ラノベ・エロゲの個性的でちょっとクセのある
キャラデザを、量産型の同じ顔に置き換えちゃうやつなんだよね
これは本当に好きだし、
この作品のアニメ化に希望が持てるわ
Too often I see anime try to replace a manga/ln/vn’s unique, slightly off character design with same face syndrome slop
I love this and it gives me hope for the adaptation

ストーリー自体はまあ普通に良いんだけどさ、
正直いくつかのゲームは
アニメで図解カットイン入れてくれないと理解キツそうだわ
これはハイリスク違法ギャンブル系マンガ・アニメの第三勢力だな
キャラ重視でも罰ゲーム重視でもないやつ
カイジでもカケグルイでもなくて、
延々とゲーム理論とか戦略を語り合う展開が
6話分くらい続くタイプ
それが「刺さる」人間もいるし、
俺は大好物なんだけど、
ゲームによっては追うのがマジでしんどい
The story is ok but good god am I going to need anime cut-in diagrams for some of the games.
This is the third side of high stakes illegal gambling manganime: systems focused over character focus or punishment focused. No Kaiji, no Kakeguruis, just people talking about game theory and strategies for six chapters in a row.
Which is MY JAM, but some of those games are a pain to follow.

The poker bidding game near the end was absolutely bonkers.
Im confident in saying not even 1 out of 200 people can completely follow whats going on.

全話を韓国のスタジオDRムービーに外注するってこと
作画は別に下手じゃないけど、
めちゃくちゃ良いってほどでもないから、
アニメの出来は「まあ普通（ミッド）」になると思うよ
It means Madhouse will outsource all episodes to a korean studio DR Movie, they are not bad at animating but also not excellent, so expect the animation to be Mid.

さっきトレーラー観たけど、
ほぼ口パクのスライドショーで、
OPM3期（ワンパンマン）レベルの作画って感じだったわ（笑）
しかもあのネオンフィルターすら無しでな
Just watched the trailer and it looks like OPM S3 level of animation with mostly just lip flaps slide show, except without the Neon Filter, lol.

この作品、
アニメって媒体がプラスに働くのか、
それとも逆に足引っ張るのか気になるわ
俺が子供だったからってのもあるかもしれないけど、
『ライアーゲーム』読んでた時、
ルールとか主人公たちがどういう抜け道使って勝つのか理解するの、
正直かなり頭使ってキツかったんだよな
しかも肝心な勝敗を左右する行動を
オフスクリーンでやっておいて、
後から「実はこうして勝ってました！」って
ドヤ顔で説明する展開も多かったし
I wonder if the anime medium will be a help or hindrance to this story. It might be because I was basically a child but I found even reading Liar Game to be very mentally taxing to try and understand the rules and the nuances the MCs would abuse to win, especially since the MCs will make major game-determining plays off screen for the sake of being a big mic drop during the scenes where they describe how they won.

それがアニメで上手く表現できるのか気になるわ
ゲーム中のリアルタイム描写が増えるなら、
多少改変してくれても全然アリだと思う
They’re always doing things off screen! I wonder if that will translate to anime well. I wouldn’t mind if they changed some things to show a little more action in real time during the games

なんか顔がギュッと詰まりすぎて見えない？
パースや角度の問題なのは分かるけど、
それでもちょっと不気味なんだよな
Is it just me or do their faces look weirdly squished together? I get that it’s mainly due the perspective/angle but it still looks kinda uncanny.

2000〜2010年代あたりの古いマンガ読んでると分かるけど、
当時の作家って顔と体のバランスめちゃくちゃに描く人多かったんだよ
そのせいでちょっと不気味に見えるけど、
この原作自体がクッソ古いからな
if youve read early like as in 2000-2010s manga youll see how most artists like drawing disproportionate face to body and vise versa hence the uncanny visual since the manga is like old as hell

パースが完全にズレてるでしょ
『ライアーゲーム』1巻の表紙と比べてみ？
秋山のポーズはほぼ丸パクリなのに、
顔だけ別物なんだよ
甲斐谷の絵柄が独特なのは確かだけど、
これは単純に技術的に微妙だと思うわ
Nah nah clearly they’ve tried to copy Kaitani’s style but the perspective is 100% off. Just compare it the Liar Game Volume 1 cover, it looks like they’ve copied Akiyama’s pose from that but face from somewhere else.
Kaitani’s style is unique for sure, but this is just technically lackluster.

実はこれ、
原作者の「斜め顔」っていう
割と特徴的な描き方にかなり近いんだよね
正直、
あの人は絵よりもストーリー構成の才能が本職だからな
You’re not wrong that the faces look weird …and yet, you’d be surprised that this is pretty close to the mangaka’s signature tilted faces. His talents are in writing, but not quite drawing.

This was one of my favorite manga 10 years ago. I have all the volumes. I’m so hype for this adaption! I hope they can do it justice!
