正直、これ実写映画にしたらいけるんじゃないかって思ってた。

この作品、結構好きだったよ。新聞の四コマ漫画みたいな、やさしいユーモアがあってさ。
それに恋愛とかスポーツの話もわりと良かった。
ただ、ずっと「成功作なのか失敗作なのか」分類に悩む作品でもある。
全122話って、普通の打ち切りにしてはかなり長い。
でも掲載順位は低かったし、単行本の売上もかなり悪かった。
明らかに駆け足の最終回なのに、巻頭カラーすらもらえなかったし。
それなのに、今さら実写化……？
I quite liked this series. It had a gentle humor like you’d find in a newspaper comic strip, while also doing some nice romance & sports storylines.
but I’ve always wondered how to categorize the series in terms of Success/Failure. It lasted 122 chapters, that’s far more than most flops. But it ranked poorly, sold even worse, and didn’t even get a color page for its clearly-abbreviated ending. And now it’s getting a live-action adaptation…?

え、これって1巻あたり6000部しか売れてなかった作品でしょ？
それなのにジャンプで2年以上も連載続いたの意味わからん。
しかもその時期、呪術廻戦とヒロアカがまだ連載中だったから、基準も今より厳しかったはず。
倍以上売れてた作品でも、もっと早く打ち切られてたのに。
中野編集長が個人的にめちゃくちゃこの作品好きだったとかじゃないと説明つかん。
マジで意味不明すぎて草。
What the hell, this is a series that peaked at only 6K copies sold per volume, yet Jump allowed it to continue for 2+ years? And it was while JJK and MHA were still running, so their standards were generally higher, too. Bruh, they’ve axed series that sold more than double that way quicker. Nakano must’ve personally really loved this series or smth, cuz this just makes no sense LOL.

ギャグ漫画って、昔から単行本が売れなくても成立するジャンルなんだよ。
雑誌を読んでる人にクスッとさせるための存在だからね。
人気に関係なく、だいたい雑誌の最後に載ることが多いし。
そう考えれば、3年続いたのはまあ悪くないと思う。
Gag mangas historically don’t need to sell well as tankobon, they are made for the magazine audience to have a sensible chuckle. And they are usually the magazine closer regardless of popularity.
That said, a 3 year run is ok for it.

その「ギャグ漫画は守られる」枠に、なんで超条は入れてもらえなかったんだろうな……。
もう何度も同じ話してるのは分かってるけど、あの打ち切りはいまだに納得できない。
Too bad that “gag manga” safety net didn’t include Chojo for whatever reason…
Yes, I know I’m beating a dead horse, but its axe still just forever boggles the mind.

超条は目次順位（ToC）ももっと酷かったけど、今思えばあれは良い判断じゃなかったと思う。
Chojo’s ToC was even worse, but in retrospect it wasn’t a great decision.

目次順位が急落して、そこから急に乱高下し始めたのを見るに、
そのあたりで編集部が介入して、アンケや売上を無視して配置してたんだと思う。
で、最終的には飽きたか、推してた人が現実を受け入れたか、
もしくは作者が「いやもう十分です」って言ったかで、サクッと打ち切り。
the way the ToC tanked immediately, then suddenly begins to vacillate wildly, suggests that was when the editors put their finger on the scale, ignored the survey results & sales figures, and just started slotting it in wherever.
Then they eventually got bored of it, or whoever was championing it had to face reality, or the author said “look guys I appreciate the confidence but let’s just fucking stop already” and so it was swiftly cancelled.

It was cancelled and not a succes. As seen by the lack of a final chapter colour page.

サイレン、ブラックトーチ、超条も全部アニメ化されてるしね。
でもどれも、急いで終わらされて「成功作」とは見なされてなかった。
だから打ち切り。
That’s how Jump saw it, that is just a fact. Psyren, Black Torch and Chojo are also all recieving anime.
That doesn’t change the fact that all were rushed to a end and not seen as succesfull by Jump, so cancelled.

主人公の友達が、あそこまで主人公の母親を「ママになってほしい」って言う理由がようやく分かったわ😩😩😩
冗談はさておき、ゴンザレス・ゴメスはもう少し猫として変な見た目にしてもよかったと思う。
もし必要な場面だけ急にCGで表情付け始めたら、飲み物吹く自信ある。
追記：猫の名前は「ゴメス」だったわ。
ぷちますのちひゃーの名前と混ざってた。
Now I understand why the protag’s friend wants the protag’s mom to be his mommy so much 😩😩😩
Joking aside, man, Gonzales Gomez should have looked a bit more weird for a cat. Tho, I’m going to spit out my drink if they decided to suddenly CGI the cat’s expression when it’s necessary.
Edit: The cat’s name is “Gomez”, my bad. I kept remembering Chihaya’s puchi’s name from Puchimas.

これ読んだことなかったけど、こういう展開は普通に好き。
第1話はめちゃくちゃ面白い。
Never got into this one but I love that this is a thing. The first chapter is hilarious.

だからこそ実写映画化するんでしょ。
北米でも公開されるといいな。
At least Shueisha must have regretted cancelling it, if they’re giving it a live-action movie.
Well hope, the movie gets picked up in North America, hopefully.

途中まではすごく楽しんでたけど、
最終的に3〜4種類のスポーツ漫画が混ざったような内容になったのがなあ。
でも実写映画なら、うまくハマりそうな気はする。
I really enjoyed this series until it just became an amalgamation of 3 or 4 different sports manga. I could see it working as a live action movie pretty well.
